The Learning Support program at Patterson River Secondary College is a literacy program designed to support students who need extra assistance in their reading comprehension and in further developing their basic literacy skills.

Students are recommended for the Learning Support program by their primary school teacher when entering Year 7 or are recommended by their classroom teacher upon arrival at the school. Recommended students complete the Neale Reading Analysis when they begin at PRSC which provides data that highlights the students’ strengths and weaknesses in regards to their literacy. The program operates within the curriculum and students attend timetabled classes. Support is offered from Year 7 through to Year 10.
