
Patterson River Secondary College has a vibrant sporting program and is seeking a highly motivated and organised person to fill the role of assistant to our sports program (time fraction negotiable (0.6-1.0FTE)
The College has a three-court basketball stadium, a weights room (accessible to staff outside work hours), a football oval and a soccer oval. In addition to our in-school and interschool sports programs, the College offers a select-entry EXCEL Sport Program running from Years 7–10. In 2026, the College won eight state championships across a range of sports, including AFL, AFL 9s, Rugby 9s and Futsal.

We are seeking a passionate & enthusiastic Instrumental Brass instructor one day per week.
The instrumental music program at Patterson River Secondary College has been a valued part of the school community for over 40 years. The advantages of a music education in supporting student development in a wide range of abilities is well known, and as such; all students at Patterson River Secondary College are given the opportunity at Year 7 to learn an instrument. The availability of hired instruments and access to free lessons means that our intake of Year 7 students is consistently strong and has seen steady growth in recent years, alongside general school numbers.
Our instrumental music program is concert band focused and consists of 150 students on average. We are an active program with a dedication to playing at school events, primary schools and local community events. A dedicated staff of instrumental music teachers run rehearsals and lessons for a range of bands and ensembles which represent the finest of our school values.
Role and responsibilities
The successful applicant will need to teach individual and group lessons in trumpet and trombone from Year 7 to VCE and run a range of ensembles.

Patterson River has a strong focus on Teaching & Learning. To support teachers, the majority of our staff meeting time is dedicated to instructional and assessment practices. Patterson River is an established PLC school and is the link ‘showcase’ school for Bayside Peninsula Area. Patterson River has an active staff association, organising multiple staff social events and activities. Each Tuesday afternoon, the school runs optional Professional Development, Wellbeing and Physical Activities. In addition, the College just completed construction on a $150K gymnasium (weights and circuit training). Staff are able to access this facility for no charge out of normal school hours.

Riding to Work
Our school is connected to several bike paths along local wetlands, train line and East Link. In addition to this, the school is situated close to Nepean Hwy and Beach Rd. The College has a dedicated bike storage and shower facility for staff who ride to school.
