No one could have predicted that a new decade would cause so much change in so many lives across our globe. The pandemic and 2020 will forever be cemented in the memories and lives of our children, families and community. Everyone has faced difficulties in some form, but 2020 has also taught us many lessons and to reflect on what is important. During this time, the parents, guardians, teachers’ council and community have worked tirelessly to transition into our “new normal,” thereby creating a sense of continuity.
Collectively we have come together to work, modify and find solutions that made this difficult period bearable. The school community has, and continues to, demonstrate adaptability, resilience and determination. The School Council has worked hard in the background during 2020 to ensure that continuity. This includes reviewing and approving:
These initiatives will be fundamental components underpinning student outcomes. Over the next few months, the college will undergo its delayed four yearly strategic review. This review will independently evaluate the school’s performance against goals and targets of the prior strategic plan and identify areas for improvement. Following this review, the college will formulate its next four-year strategic plan for endorsement by the school community. I would encourage parents to consider nominating for School Council; it’s a great way to be involved and have a real say and set future direction for the college – and it enables my daughter to see I am really involved in her future and the future of others.
On behalf of the our School Council, I would like to acknowledge the hard work and sacrifices you have all made throughout 2020 and may need to continue to respond to during 2021.
School Council President.
